LOOMIS, Calif. -

As students head back to school some celebrate with a big dance, but at one high school, the kids have to take a breathalyzer test before getting in the door.

Leaders at Del Oro High in in Loomis, California said they want to make sure the school year starts safely.

So at their back to school dance they'll make sure the kids who show up haven't been drinking.

They said they have the students' best interest in mind.

“Our hope every dance is that we don't catch anybody. It’s not designed to say ‘gotcha’ it’s designed to say ‘come here the right way without any alcohol, hopefully no drugs, and have a good time,’” said Asst. Principal Trent Wilson.

Students who do test positive for alcohol would be dealt with by a school resource officer.

We want to know, do you think students should be tested for alcohol at your child's school dances?
