DETROIT (AP) -

Three motorcyclists reached speeds of 135 mph while leading state police on a chase along Detroit-area freeways.

The state police report Tuesday that the motorcycles were clocked Monday morning at 120 mph on the Southfield Freeway near Interstate 96 in Detroit.

As troopers tried to stop them, the operators of the cycles increased their speeds to 135 mph.

The motorcyclists exited the Southfield Freeway at I-94. Two would soon get off I-94, while the third turned onto southbound I-275 and drove into Monroe County.

Michigan troopers called off the pursuit at the Ohio state line.

Police did not say if any of the motorcyclists were arrested.
