High school went into lockdown after bomb threat

LINDEN, MI (WNEM) -

Linden High School was in lockdown mode Wednesday morning following a bomb threat.

The threat was received through email, the school district said.

The incident happened about 7:30 a.m. and the school remained in lockdown mode until about 9:30 a.m.

Th school followed their emergency preparedness procedures, the district said.

The Argentine Police Department, FBI and Genesee County Sheriff Department was contacted. A K-9 unit arrived to the scene and searched the school.

"An incident of this nature is disruptive to the educational process. Naturally, the safety of our students and staff is of paramount importance and we will continue to take the necessary steps to provide a safe and orderly environment in our schools," Superintendent Russell Ciesielski said.

The incident remains under investigation.
