BEAL CITY, MI (WNEM) -

A Mid-Michigan high school is offering to help students get an early start to a college education. Beal City Public Schools announced the State of Michigan approved an Early College Program with the start of the 2016-2017 school year.

In a press release issued today, Beal City Public Schools says that by attending a fifth year of high school, Early College students will be able to earn an associate degree through Mid-Michigan Community College while they also earn their high school diplomas.  Early College students will take courses at one of MMCC’s campuses or online in conjunction with their high school schedule.  Students can pursue a variety of college degrees as part of the program.

Through a combination of State and school funding, students will have limited costs to participate in Beal City’s Early College.

An Information Night is scheduled for September 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Beal City High School Cafeteria.  Representatives from both BCHS and MMCC will be available to talk about the Early College program and to answer questions.  All interested current 10th grade students and their families are invited to attend.

To learn more about Beal City’s Early College program, contact Sara Millerov, Beal City High School Guidance Counselor, at (989) 644-3944 ext. 2206.
