BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A brief standoff ended with a man being taken away in handcuffs.

It happened Friday, Sept. 9 near Lagoon Beach Drive in Bay County from about noon to 1:30 p.m.

The suspect, 42-year-old Steven Sanderson, was wanted on a federal felony warrant for threatening the Office of Social Security, according to Lt. Dave Kaiser with Michigan State Police.

Kaiser said Sanderson barricaded himself inside with three large dogs.

Police activated the Emergency Support Team and the Fugitive Team and used a "public address system" to communicate his surrender peacefully.

He is now in custody.
