PONTIAC, MI (WNEM) -

A man was arrested after an officer watched him throw a large rock at a patrol vehicle.

A deputy with the Oakland County Sheriff''s Department was pulling into the east parking lot of the substation on E. Pike Street when he saw the 27-year-old man making gestures with his hands.

The officer said the man was pretending to shoot at the patrol vehicles in the lot.

When the deputy exited his vehicle, the man walked up to an unattended, fully-marked sheriff’s vehicle and threw a large rock at the front windshield, causing it to shatter.

The deputy arrested the man without incident.

Officials said the man told police he “wanted to go to jail.”

He was booked into the Oakland County Jail and is awaiting arraignment.
