GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A 28-year-old Goodrich man has been hospitalized after flipping his SUV into a Genesee County pond.

Emergency responders were called to the end of Irish Road in Atlas Township on Monday afternoon.

The Goodrich man was rescued from his overturned vehicle after investigators say he drove down a dead-end road right into the water.

Deputy Casey Seeley was the first responder on the scene and broke out a window to rescue the man.

The Sheriff’s Department believes he may have been using narcotics, and is expected to be charged with operating under the influence, among other things.
