GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The time is getting closer to ring in the holidays, and to do that the Salvation Army of Genesee County is looking to recruit bell ringers.

A job fair will be held Thursday to hire more people for the upcoming 2016 Red Kettle Campaign.

The fair will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Citadel Corps, 211 W. Kearsley St. in downtown Flint.

“It’s not an easy job because of the outdoor environment. We will hire more people that we will end up finishing the season with,” said Captain Caleb Senn, the Regional Coordinator of The Salvation Army Genesee/Shiawassee County Regional Command.

The jobs will pay $8.40 an hour, you must be at least 18-years-old to apply and bring a valid driver’s license or state ID, Social Security card and a schedule of availability to the job fair.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle bell ringing season kicks off on Friday, Nov. 4 and continues through Dec. 24.

Workers ring bells every day except Sundays and on Thanksgiving Day.
