Deputies: Suspect tried to disarm, take gun from officer

CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A man has been charged after allegedly breaking into a home and trying to take a police officer’s weapon.

Clare County Deputies were called to a home on Jeffrey Street in Hayes Township on Sept. 21 at 12:30 a.m.

Deputies were responding to reports that 23-year-old Tyler Roy had broken into the home and was in some sort of altercation with a woman inside.

When deputies arrived they report that Roy resisted arrest and tried to take a deputy’s firearm.

Roy was charged with multiple counts and is in the Clare County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
