Police search for suspect in home invasion

FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Police are searching for a suspect in a home invasion.

It happened just before 5 a.m. on Thursday on the 4100 block of Van Slyke Road in Flint Township.

A woman was home at the time of the intrusion. The homeowner believed the suspect had a gun. police said.

The suspect, a black male in his late teens or early 20s, stole cash from the residence and instructed the homeowner to drive him to the bank to withdraw money from her account, police said.

When the pair exited the house the woman began yelling for help and the suspect fled the scene on foot. He was last seen on Mark Street near Van Slyke Road.

He was about 5'10 with a thin build. He was wearing blue jeans and had a mask or bandana covering his face, police said.
