ISABELLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

One man was stabbed in the leg, now police are looking for the suspect.

It happened at around 10 p.m. on Sept. 24 at the Super 8 motel, across Mission Street from Central Michigan University’s campus.

CMU Police tweeted that after the stabbing, the suspect, a 6’2” man wearing jeans and a blue flannel shirt ran off, with a pit bull dog.

Public Information Officer Jeff Browne with Mt. Pleasant Police said it all started with a fight in the motel's hallway that moved to an elevator. When the victim pinned the suspect down, the suspect allegedly pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed the victim in the leg.

The victim is expected to recover, but neither he nor his girlfriend are cooperating with police.

They won't say what the fight was about, but did share a phone number to the suspect, although not a full name.

Police now believe the suspect has left Mt. Pleasant, but don't believe anyone else is in danger.

If you have any information on the suspect, please call 9-1-1.
