Police: Man going 100 mph launches off road, lands on another

MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

A driver admitted to drinking after he launched his vehicle off the road and onto the road below, according to police.

It happened on Sept. 26 at about 1:38 a.m. in Mt. Pleasant.

Police were called to High and Douglas Street for a one-car accident.

Investigators reported a 21-year-old man from Wyadotte drove his car southbound on Oaks Street at about 100 mph before launching off the road, and landing on High Street below.

The driver and passenger were treated and released.

Police say the driver admitted to drinking.
