OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A Pontiac man is behind bars after authorities say he threatened to kill an Oakland County judge and blow up the courthouse.

Officials with the Oakland County Sheriff's department said 24-year old Jeffrey Brodie was worried he would not be treated fairly in a child custody case being heard by Judge Lisa Gorcyca.

They said he told an acquaintance earlier this month that he was willing to "go to war," saying he would kill Judge Gorcyca and blow up Oakland County's 6th Circuit Court building.

He even indicated that he researched how Timothy McVeigh pulled off the Oklahoma City bombing and agreed with McVeigh's views on government.

Officers with the U.S. Marshals Office arrested Brodie Wednesday morning while he was at work in Ann Arbor.

Brodie is charged with making a threat of terrorism and will be arraigned on Thursday in the 50th District Court in Pontiac.

Making a threat of terrorism is a 20-year felony and carries a fine of up to $20,000.
