Eastern Michigan University has doubled a reward to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in connection with racist graffiti on campus.

The Ypsilanti school says the additional $2,500 was provided by a donor who wished to remain anonymous.

Graffiti was found last week and included the letters "KKK" and a racial epithet. Another racial slur was found in a stairwell. Both have been removed. The graffiti prompted student protesters to take to the field last week after a football game.

University President James Smith says in a statement: "There is no place on Eastern's campus for such hateful and intentional acts and we will continue to investigate until they are solved."

The school's Department of Public Safety is being assisted by the FBI and the state of Michigan.
