MIDLAND, MI (WNEM) -

It’s the sweet sound of a Maserati in the morning, or any time really.

Oct. 1 was the final day of the 53rd Annual Northwood Auto Show, and the day did not disappoint.

“It’s really different because it’s 100 percent student run. We do have some help from professors, but it’s really special because it’s used for education,” said Norma Benavides.

Day three featured a classic car show in addition to the already impressive line-up of attractions.

The car show portion was a chance for local car enthusiast to show the crowd their pride and joy.

“It’s a 71 Dodge Challenger convertible. I’ve had it since I was 15-years-old, it was my first car,” said Jeff Oparker.

Oparker said it’s his first time bringing his Challenger to the show and it was a great chance to keep his car-loving legacy going for generations.

“It’s extra special for me because my daughter is a sophomore here at the school, so it’s my first time at the fantastic event,” Oparker said.

“It’s a lot of fun. Good to see people taking an interest in the cars and what we do with them. It’s been a really exciting event so far,” said Andrew Keila with Reliable Carriers, INC.
