Mid-Michigan transgender student nominated homecoming prince

GRAND BLANC, MI (WNEM) -

A local teen is breaking barriers after the sophomore class overwhelmingly voted a transgender student as homecoming prince.

Kourt Frame, 15, identifies as a boy. He chose to make the transition in 7th grade with the support of his family.

“In so many aspects and so many ways, I think this brings to light that transgender kids are really like every other kid out there. Out to have fun and out to be athletes. Just out to be like every other kid out there,” Frame’s mother said.

Friday night, Frame rode in the back of a Camera during the homecoming parade.

Frame said he can’t thank the community more for nominating him as class prince.
