DAVISON, MI (WNEM) -

Several people were evacuated from their neighborhood Monday morning after a vehicle drove into a house and hit a gas line.

It happened in the 800 block of Hemlock Drive in Davison.

An elderly woman told officials she was backing out of her driveway when her foot got caught under the pedal, causing her to drive into the home across the street and hit a gas line.

The family inside the home made it out and no injuries were reported.

"I just heard the hissing of the gas. I heard a bang outside and so I walked outside and her car was backed up to the fence. I think she was coming out of her driveway and just over the curb," said Glenn Smith, who lives in the home.

Three homes nearby were evacuated due to the gas leak.

Officials at the scene told TV5 there was little damage to the home.
