ISABELLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Police have identified the man arrested and charged in a hit-and-run incident.

It happened on Saturday, Oct. 8 about 8 p.m. in the 2000 block of W. Coleman Road in Gilmore Township.

A 19-year-old woman was hit by a darker colored maroon four door mid-sized vehicle, the sheriff's department said. She sustained a possible broken ankle and back injury from the incident.

The driver fled the scene and failed to render aid to the victim.

The sheriff's department arrested 24-year-old Alec John Grant from Trenton who they believe was the driver in question.

He was arraigned on one count of failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in serious impairment or death.

Grant has since bonded out of jail.
