GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Southbound US-23 at Thompson Road/Exit 84 in Genesee County was closed for several hours Wednesday following a crash.

The accident was reported at around 2 p.m. All southbound lanes were closed at one point.

A black vehicle appeared to have gone into a tree-lined ditch between the freeway and a service road in that area.

TV5's Sara Simnitch reported that traffic was at a standstill just north of Owen Road for a while.
