A lawyer seeking to overturn a 1983 murder conviction in Lansing says DNA tests on the victim's clothing point to an ex-convict who was 13 at the time of the killing.

The disclosure was made in the latest court filing Friday in Ingham County. Michael Darnell Harris is seeking a new trial in the death of 77-year-old Ula Curdy, who was strangled in her Lansing home in 1981.

Harris' lawyer, Ed Zeineh (Zany), says tests on a semen stain show it belonged to another man. DNA tests weren't available decades ago.

Harris is serving a life sentence. He was also convicted of killing three more elderly women in Lansing, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.

A Friday court hearing could be postponed. Prosecutor Gretchen Whitmer says other evidence is being retested.
