Record-breaking temps across Mid-Michigan

Posted: Updated:
MID-MICHIGAN (WNEM) -

It may be fall but summer is stubbornly sticking around.

Much of the eastern half of the country could see record-high temperatures this week with record-breaking heat expected in more than 40 cities.

Meteorologists say most of the warmer temperatures will be in the south and southeastern United States but the heat wave will extend north to Chicago and east to New York City and Boston.

Here in Mid-Michigan, we broke records Tuesday morning for the highest minimum temperatures.

While it’s a warm day today, it will be the last one for a while.

Cooler air moves in starting Wednesday.
