MIDLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

As part of its move to cut costs, Comerica plans to close dozens of branches across the country, including 2 here in Mid-Michigan.

The Dallas-based bank will close the Circle Branch in Midland, located at 401 South Saginaw, and the Beaverton Branch, at 370 North Ross.

The nationwide cuts, all part of the GEAR UP plan, are expected to impact about 800 workers at 38 branches, but it’s unclear how many employees in Mid-Michigan and the state will be affected.

Employees will have the opportunity to transfer to other locations or will have severance packages made available to them.
