SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A teen wanted in connection with an "ambush-style" murder has been arrested.

DeQuavion "Quay" Harris was arrested Saturday, Oct. 22 about 9 p.m. Troopers spotted a suspect vehicle and tried to make a traffic stop. Harris was driving and tried to flee, police said.

Lt. Dave Kaiser with Michigan State Police said the chase lasted two blocks when Harris stopped and his passenger "bailed out" and ran on foot. Kaiser said he believed the passenger fled as an attempt to distract officers and allow Harris to escape.

Harris was taken into custody without any further incident.

He was wanted in connection to deadly shooting at Kingwater market in Mount Morris Township on Oct. 8.

When officers arrived they found the victim, 20-year-old Darnyreouckeonu Jones-Dickerson of Flint with gunshot wounds.

Police said Jones-Dickerson tried to drive away from the scene, but crashed his vehicle nearby.

Harris faces charges of first degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon.

A court date has not been set.

Harris almost went to trial for the murder of an 18-year-old at a Flint apartment complex in 2014. A judge dismissed that case when witnesses continually failed to appear in court.

Harris was released from jail and the charges were dismissed one week prior to the most recent shooting.
