All-clear given after patients, staff evacuated at cancer center

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Patients and staff at a Mid-Michigan cancer center were evacuated Wednesday after reports of a possible fire. 

The call came in about 11:16 a.m. for the McLaren Cancer Institute at 4100 Beecher Road in Flint.

A spokesperson for McLaren said there were concerns over a heating system that was reportedly smoking and the fire department was called.  They center evacuated patients and staff as a precaution.

As of 11:40 a.m., people were re-entering the building and returning to work.
