DETROIT (AP) -

A 49-year-old man facing a terrorism-related charge after threats to Detroit police and Chief James Craig were spray painted on a building says he's innocent.

The Wayne County prosecutor's this week charged Stuart Lewis of Detroit with making a threat of terrorism, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison upon conviction. The threats were painted last week on the west side commercial building.

Lewis tells WWJ-AM that police and prosecutors are wrong about him. He says "If I knew who did it or why I would have told them, but I don't know anything."

Lewis also is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and malicious destruction of a building. He says that's a setup. He's due back in court next month.
