A Mid-Michigan church is celebrating 20 years of spiritual healing.

Those struggling with pain come to experience the power of prayer.

"We don't know what God's doing. People come, we pray and God does the work," said Pastor Ginny DeFoe, director of Saginaw Healing Rooms.

She said miracles happen there every day.

"A healing room is a place where people can come who need prayer. It might be physical prayer, emotional prayer," DeFoe said.

She said each healing room has two to three member healing teams who pray for each person in seek of God's help.

Many are skeptical of the healing rooms and it has not been definitively proven that the rooms heal people of their ailments.

However, Patricia Teague swears by it. She said she is completely healed of her Crohn's disease.

"The symptoms that I experienced with Crohn's disease were weight loss, loss of appetite, abdominal pain," Teague said.

She was diagnosed with the disease at age 11, but she said the more she came to the healing rooms the better she felt.

"God had healed me from Crohn's disease and actually how I know that is, I went to Henry Ford Hospital and they did some tests. I got the tests back and they said no Crohn's disease," Teague said.

DeFoe said the healing rooms are available to anyone, whether you're a member of the church or not. She said people have traveled from near and far to experience their own healing.

Houghton Lake native and Saginaw Valley State University student Josh Storey is currently undergoing healing sessions for an incurable disease.

"There's been some other things in life that can sometimes hinder healing, but I've been coming here and it's really great. I've received prayer many times and felt better afterwards," Storey said.

He said he knows he will be healed.

"It's not big deal to Jesus though," Storey said.
