Many people fear that the 2016 presidential election will be compromised by Russian hackers and now, we have a better understanding of how they might do it.

The method is called Spear Phishing.

“You see these fake emails and they look like they’re from Google or whatever. You click them and they steal your information,” said Aric Toler, an investigators.

The emails you receive look extremely real and ask for information such as a password.

However, one way you can tell is by hovering over the link.

What should be a simple link ends up looking much larger.

“It’s a big long monstrosity. Put in your password and boom they got you,” Tolar said.
