School crossing guard hit by vehicle

MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

A school crossing guard has been hospitalized after he was hit by a vehicle. 

It happened at 7:43 a.m. on Michigan Street near Franklin, outside Sacred Heart School located at 316 E Michigan Street in Mt. Pleasant. 

Officials told TV5 a male crossing guard who had his sign up was hit by a 37-year-old Mt. Pleasant man who was driving westbound on Michigan.

The crossing guard was taken to the hospital but is expected to recover.

The driver told investigators he didn't see the crossing guard.

The case will go to the prosecutor's office for review.
