SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services announced it is offering free bus rides on Election Days.

The company wants to make sure voters have transportation to the polls on Nov. 8. All bus rides will be free that day, the city of Saginaw said.

STARS also extended their hours that day so people who vote in the evening will have transportation home.

If you are handicapped, elderly or disabled you are encouraged to call ahead to plan your ride at 989-907-4028.

The city of Saginaw worked with STARS to allow the free bus rides.

“Working with STARS on arranging transportation to the polls in November for voting has been great. STARS will provide free, safe and convenient transportation for voters which will impact the local elections in such a critical way,” Janet Santos, City Clerk.
