A motorcyclist and his passenger were hurt over the weekend when they hit a deer in Sanilac County.

Deputies were called on Sunday, Nov. 6 about 8:30 p.m. for reports of a motorcycle crash on E. Galbraith Line Road near Kilgore Road.

Investigators found a 2001 Harley Davidson driven by 60-year-old Robert Rezler of Standish was heading westbound on E. Galbraith Line Road when a deer ran across the road in front of him.

The motorcycle hit the deer causing it to enter a ditch on the south side of the road and flip.

Their conditions are unknown.

Both were wearing helmets, police said.
