UPDATE: Breast cancer survivor gets help moving

Posted: Updated:
HURON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A breast cancer survivor got a helping hand to help her move.

Pearl Moore has had it pretty rough and this weekend she finally caught a break. Pearl has a list of health problems, including breast cancer, and it's limited her ability to get around.

"When they done the surgery for the breast cancer they took out my lymph nodes and it limits the mobility of my arm and my arm froze up on me,” Moore said.

When Pearl moved in to her Sebewaing apartment she thought it would be a perfect fit, until her health took a turn for the worst.

Things have gotten so bad she can barely get up and down the stairs to do laundry.

Now, she's been given doctors’ orders to move.

"Well, my doctor wants me to not have be walking up and down so many stairs especially in the cold air because I've been diagnosed with lung problems,” Moore said.

For Pearl, living on the second floor has not made life easy. She can't get up and down the stairs easily so moving her stuff from her apartment to another home would be more than a monumental task, it'd be impossible.

“Because otherwise I don't know what I'd do with my stuff,” she said.

With the help of the Rescue Squad her calls for help were answered by a group of young men who didn't want to be shown on camera.

On Saturday, they came to her second floor apartment loaded with boxes and strength to move all of Pearl’s possessions to her new apartment.

She said their help meant the world to her and allows her to remain faithful in good people.

"When you have faith stuff will happen and don't give up,” she said.
