HOLT, MI (AP) -

A Michigan man who pursues metal detecting as a hobby has found the wedding ring of a Holt woman's late husband.

The Lansing State Journal reports 37-year-old Catherine Tucker lost the wedding ring of her deceased husband, Chris Tucker, as she passed out candy Halloween night. After realizing the ring was missing, she posted on social media, asking area children to check their candy bags.

When Tom Shively learned of Tucker's dilemma, he volunteered to scour her yard with his metal detector. After 80 minutes, he found about 20 coins and an antique toy hammer, but no ring.

About 10 minutes later, his metal detector found the ring pushed into the dirt.

Chris Tucker died in a motorcycle accident in 2013 in Montana, where the couple was living with their two daughters at the time.
