The World Health Organization has introduced a new set of guidelines for the care of pregnant women.

The recommendations say expectant mothers should get health care services at least eight times during pregnancy, with five of the visits taking place in the last trimester.

The WHO said about 300,000 mothers die while pregnant or in child birth.

The agency claims many of those deaths could be prevented with the proper healthcare.
