FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Thousands of Americans were exhausted Wednesday after staying up late the night before to watch the presidential election results.

"I'm pretty sleep deprived, cause you know I'm always worried about what is going to happen now. There are a lot of worries going through my head," said Nya Lopez.

She said she could not stop watching the election.

Lopez said she supported Hillary Clinton and after Donald Trump declared victory about 3 a.m. she had trouble falling asleep.

"Is there going to be another world war? It is very hard getting through the day," Lopez said.

A lot of Flint residents said they were up all night and getting by with extra coffee and espresso.

Students at the University of Michigan-Flint said they could not unplug from the dramatic race either.

"I couldn't focus today. We talked about it in all my classes. My head was just not where it was supposed to be. So it interfered with my work," said Ashley Davis, student.

As for Lopez, she said she is glad the election is over, but with being Hispanic she has her fair share of concerns over the new president-elect.

"Less respect towards us. We won't be as highly thought of anymore. I guess we will, might get downgraded," Lopez said.
