BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

Three parishes are out to prove there's strength in numbers so they combined into one and the church is now complete.

"I think it's the announcement to the community that we're here, we're new, we're fresh and we're not what you would expect out of a typical church in the area," said Monica Lebsack, creative ministries director.

The Grace Church in Bay City is combined of three area parishes - Christ United Methodist, First United Methodist and Fremont Avenue.

"I felt it important that maybe we come together and join and make an alliance so that we could have a foot print on the east side of the river in Bay City. And so Fremont's leaders and our leaders came together and decided after some prayer and conversation that this might be what God has for us," Pastor Eric Kieb said.

Campus Pastor Jeff Temple said what you find at Grace will be outside the norm, which he said is the best part.

"And I think that's probably the best reason to be a multi-cite church is to go to people so that they recognize there's something more," Temple said.

Grace Church has been a multiple campus church since last July, but the grand opening to the public takes place on Sunday, Nov. 27.
