Families are still trying to manage through the Flint water crisis.

"I'm still responsible for water I cannot drink," said Jeff August, Flint resident.

His garage is filled with at least 75 cases of water. He has a filter on his sink and even makes sure his two dogs don't drink the tap water. After going to City Hall recently to pay for water he doesn't use, he had an idea to make a change.

"From there I went across the hall to see what I would have to do to become a council member and maybe because I'm not part of the loop I could get something done," August said.

While he goes through the process, he said he will continue to do what he can to bring change. Until then he has to deal with the day to day challenges.

"We are using the water for showers, but I found we are getting rashes. Using it for laundry, but I have found the clothes are not as clean. And then you gotta go find the places to go get water," August said.

He said he is worried because it has become more difficult to find water distribution sites around the city.

"Harder to get water from them. Old spots you used to be able to get water from closed up or the hours are shorter. So if you are working through the day you can't get any water," August said.

He said he has a message for local and state government working towards a solution.

"Put whoever you have on the job, get it all fixed. Test the water, make sure it is right. And let us be done. Let us go back to normal life where we don't have to stockpile water," August said.
