UBLY, Mich. (WNEM) -

The Mannequin Challenge has taken the internet by storm and one Mid-Michigan class is taking part.

Judy Gerisch teaches fourth grade at Ubly Elementary School. She got the idea for her class to do the challenge from the CBS Evening News.

"I saw Scott Pelley talking about the Mannequin Challenge and I thought that would be so cool to do with my class. So yesterday I grabbed my students and had them practice doing the Mannequin Challenge," Gerisch said.

The premise of the challenge is to record a video of people while they remain frozen in action, just like a mannequin.

Gerisch said she wanted to do something fun and relatable with her students while still learning along the way.

"Just giving them experience and exposing them to what's the latest and greatest and what's happening around the world," Gerisch said.

The principal at the elementary school, Joel Brandel, agreed. He said it was great to see a class think outside the box.

"The kids were all excited about it. Kind of incorporating a little technology into their lesson and just kind of some of the current trends that are out there," Brandel said.
