MICHIGAN, (WNEM) -

The Christmas shopping season is well under way.

On Friday, millions of shoppers flocked to stores all across the nation to get their hands on this year’s big ticket items.

However, crowded stores with limited products have many people feeling like Black Friday just isn't worth the hype.

So this year, retailers gave shoppers an early preview of today's big Cyber Monday deals - many even posting their ads as early as Thanksgiving Day.

The experts are predicting an overwhelming turn out.

It’s no surprise Amazon is expected to top the list of online retailers, but Walmart, Macy's, Lord & Taylor and Home Depot are projected to fall at a close second.

If you're looking for local apparel and merchandise, Pure Michigan is hosting a 10-percent off sale as well.

Sales from Cyber Monday could hit at least $3.5 billion, nine percent more than sales in 2015 and a nearly 27-percent jump from 2014.

Over all, shoppers this holiday season could ring up over $117 billion in sales.
