Police: Two guns taken from drunken driver; child in vehicle

TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Authorities say they confiscated two handguns from a drunken driver during a traffic stop in Tuscola County. 

Officers stopped the vehicle about 3:02 p.m. on Ringle Road near M-25 in Akron Township. 

Investigators said the driver, a 53-year-old man from Northville, was going 70 mph in a 55 mph speed zone. 

The driver was found the be intoxicated, police said. 

Two handguns, a 9 mm and .22 were taken from the vehicle. 

Officers said the driver's 14-year-old son was also in the car. 

The man has been lodged for OUIL and police are seeking child endangerment charges.
