ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI (WNEM) -

Michigan police are hunting for a suspect accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenager on the way to school.

A 16-year-old girl approached police in St. Clair Shores, that’s in Macomb County, at around 6:47 a.m. on Nov. 28 and explained she had just escaped.

She told investigators that she was walking to school when a man in his 20’s, driving a dark-colored 4-door Dodge Ram with chrome wheels and side steps, stopped and asked for directions.

He then got out of his vehicle, grabbed her by the back of her neck, and pushed her into the driver’s side of the truck.

The teen said he then drove off and began to sexually assault her. She fought back and was able to get out of the vehicle and run.

Investigators report that the teen was not physically injured.

Police are investigating and have released a sketch of the suspect. He is described as being 5’3” tall, weighing 140 pounds and had his hair in short dreads or braids.

The vehicle was a dark gray or black Dodge Ram 4-door pick-up truck with chrome wheels and chrome side steps.

If you have any information, call the St. Clair Shores Police Department at (586) 445-5300.
