Giving Tuesday encourages involvement in community

Posted: Updated:
FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

It’s a day for giving back to the community.

Giving Tuesday is a day where you’re encouraged to pick a non-profit and get involved, either by volunteering, participating or donating.

The Flint Firebirds and C & L Ward will deliver an entire truck full of food, coats, blankets and personal need items to North End Soup Kitchen at 10 a.m. today.

The items were collected at last Wednesday’s Stuff the Truck event at the Dort Event Center.

This year, Genesee County Habitat for Humanity would like you to celebrate Giving Tuesday with them and learn more about their work in the community.

Join them at 101 Burton Street in Flint tonight from 5 to 7 p.m.

A brief prayer service will begin at 5:15.
