Another above average day

Posted: Updated:

After a beautiful fall day yesterday, we had a few rain showers roll through Mid-Michigan during the overnight hours. As of this morning, those showers are now history and we're looking at another day with above-average warmth.

Today & Tonight

Skies will feature more clouds today than yesterday, but we'll still expect appearances from the sun from time to time. While an isolated shower is possible throughout the day, most will remain dry. The best chances for showers through the afternoon will be in eastern areas of the Thumb.

With a cooler start, highs will be a bit cooler than yesterday, but we should still reach the lower 50s. Areas off to the west may be slightly cooler with an earlier passage of a front. Winds will be light out of the southerly direction, turning west southwesterly in the afternoon.

Clouds will increase through tonight, as lake effect processes kick in from the west. A few showers from the west side of the state may migrate into Mid-Michigan, but we're expecting scattered coverage.

Thursday & Friday

With winds out of the westerly direction over the course of the next few days, lake-effect precipitation will be moving through from time to time. Like usual lake effect events, the farther west you are, the better chance you have of seeing that precipitation.

With high temperatures tomorrow and Friday expected to be in the 40s, most of that will fall as rain. But a few flakes are possible from time to time when the temperatures are at their coolest each day. The best chance for flakes would be our interior northern areas, in the highest elevations.
