Michigan wildlife staffers and sporting groups are teaming up to offer a clinic on upland game bird hunting.

The state Department of Natural Resources Outdoor Skills Academy is sponsoring the program Dec. 17 with the National Wild Turkey Federation, Pheasants Forever and Tails-a-Waggin' guide service.

This class will take place at Tails-a-Waggin' Acres game bird preserve in Marion.

DNR instructors will describe how to hunt upland birds such as pheasants. Afterward, the sporting groups will provide guided pheasant hunts.

The clinic is open to first-time bird hunters, 16 years of age or older. The cost is $35.
