SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Authorities say a man was driving too fast for the wet conditions Friday morning when he hydroplaned, causing a three-vehicle crash on I-75 in Saginaw County.

The crash happened about 3:30 a.m. in the southbound lane of I-75, just after Dixie Highway (Exit 144) in Birch Run Township.

Lt. Dave Kaiser with Michigan State Police told TV5 a 2003 Buick Rendezvous driven by a 20-year-old man was heading southbound when his vehicle hydroplaned, causing the driver to lose control and crash into the median wall.

A second vehicle, a 2015 Chevy pickup, then crashed into the Buick. The impact caused the pickup to lose control and strike a semi.

Police had the right two lanes blocked at mile marker 138 for about an hour.

None of the drivers were hurt.

The driver of the Buick was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
