After some partial clearing in cloud cover yesterday afternoon, any evidence of snow cover from Sunday night was hard to find by the evening hours. While certainly not great news for snow lovers, it's left us in much better shape for your Tuesday morning commute.

Today & Tonight

Skies will be mostly cloudy through the day once again, with high temperatures near the 40 degree mark once again for afternoon highs.

Through the first half of the day, we should remain dry. But with two areas of low pressure in the vicinity of Mid-Michigan, we do have some scattered chances for precipitation through today. While the chance exists for everyone, the best chances for rain showers appear to be in parts of the Thumb this afternoon.

As the cold front to our west works through later tonight, we have another chance for rain showers, with the possibility of a few flakes mixing in with rain showers, especially areas off to the north. No significant accumulation is expected and all precipitation should end shortly after midnight.

Overnight lows should fall into the 20s once again.

Wednesday - Friday

We'll get a slight break in the rain and snow on Wednesday, with partly to mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. Despite the dry conditions, we're looking at much cooler temperatures behind the front. Highs on Wednesday should only reach into the middle 30s and they keep falling for the rest of the week.

On Thursday and Friday, lake-effect snow should be underway on the west side of the state and some of that snow will reach, at the very least, western parts of Mid-Michigan near US-127. For the moment, any accumulations away from west Michigan look light. We'll keep you posted throughout the week.

Highs on Thursday and Friday will struggle to reach 30 degrees and many spots will be stuck in the 20s.
