SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Authorities say they've located the driver of an SUV that side-swiped a patrol car while the officer was helping a disabled vehicle.

Police were called on Friday, Dec. 16 about 7:10 a.m. to the 4600 block of Midland Road, south of Tittabawassee Road in Saginaw Township, for reports of a car crash involving a deer.

Officials said an unknown driver in an SUV did not move over for the patrol vehicle and side-swiped the driver’s side of the car.

The driver briefly pulled over to the side of the road, police said, then fled the scene.

No one was hurt during the incident.

The SUV was last seen driving southbound on Midland Road.

Police posted a video and information to their Facebook page seeking information about the driver or SUV. They later updated the post saying the driver had been identified and interviewed. No further details were released.

Officials are reminding drivers to always slow down and move over for emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
