HURON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A woman was arrested after she allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill her boyfriend.

The incident happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday at a home on Hoffman Street in Elkton. That's in Huron County.

The boyfriend, a 50-year-old man, told deputies he was the victim of a domestic violence situation that happened earlier. He fled his house because an argument between he and his girlfriend had turned into an assault, Sheriff Kelly Hanson said.

The victim told deputies the fight ended with the woman, a 34-year-old from Elkton, pointing a 12-gauge shotgun at his head and threatening to kill him.

Deputies confronted the woman and then arrested her. She has since been released from jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
