SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

A young man with big dreams is asking for some transportation help.

A lift van would help him go to college.

Joseph Allen is an independent 24-year-old Saginaw resident. His mother and her partner contacted the Rescue Squad in hopes that someone can help him with a van with a lift.

Joseph Allen currently relies on a lift service that provides transportation. Since he has cerebral palsy he needs the lift for his wheelchair.

"My child likes to play wheelchair basketball. He likes to go to the mall, movies. He wants to be more independent. he wants to go to college. So if he has transportation he could do a lot more things," said Tara Allen, Joseph's mother.

Joseph Allen is an artist. He would like to pursue that line of study at Delta College. He would also like to help out kids who deal with cerebral palsy by opening a facility for them.
