LANSING, MI (WNEM) -

Jury duty can be a long, boring process that takes up your entire day but a member of the state's Supreme Court hopes to change that.

According to the Detroit Free Press, outgoing Chief Justice Robert Young, Jr. wants to bring in a system similar to what the Secretary of State uses.

Prospective jurors would have appointments with the court and could be notified on their smart phones about when they are and are not needed.

Young has pushed for the technological innovation during his six-years as chief justice.
