SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A crash in Saginaw County caused a gas leak Tuesday morning.

It happened on Gera Road (M-83) at Bradley Road just a few miles north of Frankenmuth.

Witnesses told police a 30-year-old Tuscola County man was driving southbound when he swerved across Gera Road and hit a barricade. The vehicle clipped a telephone wiring box and a natural gas line that caused a leak.

There were no evacuations due to the gas leak, officials at the scene told TV5.

The driver was taken to Covenant Medical Center. Police believe he had a medical emergency that caused the crash.
